Who are we?
We believe no survivor of modern slavery should ever sleep on the streets.
We are a hosting scheme. We train and support volunteer hosts, who are ordinary individuals or families with a spare bedroom, to welcome a survivor of modern slavery into their homes, preventing homelessness and re-trafficking.
Modern slavery takes many forms. Individuals are often trafficked, and experience the trauma of sexual exploitation, forced labour, criminal exploitation or domestic servitude. Many face violence, threats and destitution.
When a survivor of modern slavery manages to escape their exploitation, they often experience homelessness and poverty and are vulnerable to re-trafficking and further exploitation.
Without a safe place to live, survivors remain at risk.
We offer full support and training to our hosts, equipping them to welcome a survivor and share their spare bedroom, for an agreed time and with our help. We never drop a guest and run – in fact, we take care as a hosting scheme to match our hosts and guests carefully, and we are with you throughout every step of your hosting journey.
We believe that everyone deserves the chance to find a hope and a future. With a safe place to live, survivors are able to rebuild their lives. Many go on to study at university, find work, volunteer, develop community and move on into independent and safe housing.
